I had met and photographed Michael on my first ever trip to Los Angeles with his god daughter and my friend Sarah Forbes, Journalist and daughter of Film director Bryan Forbes.

Fortuitously on a later press shoot for the Times, he was happy to give me extra time to shoot some exclusive images away from the usual press pack.
