At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Linford Christie suffered a dramatic exit from the men's 100m final after being disqualified for two false starts. As the defending Olympic champion from Barcelona 1992, he made history as the first runner ever to be ejected from an Olympic 100m final under the false start rule.
