On 26 January 1926, John Logie Baird demonstrated his machine before 50 scientists from the Royal Institute, London It was the first time that televised moving images were seen. In this picture taken on May 27, 1927, Logie Baird’s invention transmitted blurry pictures 438 miles via telephone lines between London and a room on the fourth floor of the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.
