Hide n Seek at Umar Al Farooq School by Lucy Young
Umar Al Farooq School construction started in 2004 and was then refurbished in 2008. In 2014 the school student population was 1399 (566 boys and 469 girls) in both the integrated and madrassa classes.
Before Islamic Relief invested in the project the school only had land available without any buildings. Islamic Relief was responsible for the construction of twelve classrooms, provision of 150 desks for the pupils, and 10 chairs and tables for the teachers.
Islamic Relief was also responsible for the construction of thirteen pit latrines at the school.
