The Rowe Sisters - 1929 - Northcliffe Collection
The Rowe Sisters, twins Pauline & Betty Rowe started their career as dancers in France around 1924. They were known to their fans as ‘the Greyhounds of Paris’ . After they appeared at the Alhambra in Brussels , newspaper reports at the time said ”Paris was “eagerly awaiting the return of the Rowe Sisters after their success transformed them into stars.” The leggy Rowe Sisters never became top of the bill however, and they stopped dancing when Betty married French actor and singer Henri Garat 1932.
