The Rowe Sisters - by Victor Console - Northcliffe Collection

The Rowe Sisters, twin dancers Pauline and Betty Rowe, began their career in France around 1924. Known to fans as “the Greyhounds of Paris,” they gained attention after performing at the Alhambra in Brussels, with newspapers reporting that Paris was “eagerly awaiting the return of the Rowe Sisters after their success transformed them into stars.” Despite their popularity, the tall and graceful sisters never reached top billing, and they retired from dancing when Betty married French actor and singer Henri Garat in 1932.
